The media’s focus on Liverpool’s past as opposed to its achievements today (questions 2 and 3)

The media’s role in promoting Liverpool is crucial if it is to become successful in attracting inward investment and the cream of professionals. But it needs to be promoting the right image in the first place.

Over half of all respondents criticised the media for focusing too much on Liverpool’s past glories, in particular not focusing on promoting its modern achievements.

This sentiment is echoed in the views of Liverpool’s business on where resources should be allocated. Over three-quarters of respondents said the priority should be on constructing a leading edge business infrastructure rather than protecting heritage sites in Liverpool.
