The importance of Liverpool’s heritage to its image to the outside world (question 1)

The Beatles, the Liver Building, Anfield, have all played a major role in putting Liverpool on the world map and helped it become one of the most recognised and recalled cities in the world. However, some commentators are now claiming these images in fact detract from Liverpool’s image as a city for the 21 st century.

However, our survey showed that Liverpool’s heritage is still considered to be highly important to how the city is perceived by the outside world (68%). At least a fifth of all respondents believe its heritage is a central asset to Liverpool’s image (19%).

Q1: How important do you think Liverpool ’s heritage is to the city’s image outside the city?
