Private sector business club Downtown Liverpool In Business (DLIB) is to host all its major Sexy Networking evenings in 2006 at the Sir Thomas Hotel, it has revealed. In previous years, DLIB has held its renowned networking events at some of the city’s hottest venues such as chic new bar, Alma de Cuba, and the award-winning Japanese restaurant, Sapporo Teppanyaki. But now the business leaders’ champion has decided to hold all four of its major networking functions in 2006 amid the impressive surroundings of the Sir Thomas Hotel. The first will take place on Thursday, January 26, and DLIB Chairman Frank McKenna commented: “We are delighted that Sir Thomas has agreed to sponsor our key networking events for the forthcoming year. “The venue is fast being recognized as one of the premier facilities in downtown Liverpool and we are looking forward to working in partnership with the Sir Thomas staff to provide the best business get-togethers held in the city. Hotel communications manager Kate Speakman added: “We are committed to offering the best that Liverpool has to offer as a bar, restaurant and hotel. “Downtown Liverpool In Business already hosts the best business networking events in the city, so there is a natural association between the two organizations.” This Thursday’s event will start at 6.30 pm, and will feature presentations from Tom Lang, who will be talking about the campaign to save the 3345 bar and Parr Street studios for Liverpool’s creative sector, as well as Frank McKenna on DLIB’s plans for the coming year.
