‘LIVERCOOL 2004 GIVES DLIB ANOTHER SUCCESS’ Downtown Liverpool In Business (DLIB) hosted its second annual ‘Livercool’ business awards at the Crowne Plaza hotel last night, and over 450 business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the city joined the networking party of the year. Award winners included Phil Redmond of Mersey Television (Downtowner of the Year); Chris Nisbet (Property Entrepreneur of the Year) and The Living Room (Best Bar & Restaurant). DLIB Chairman Frank McKenna told the ‘Livercool’ audience: “We are the fastest growing business organisation on Merseyside, and we offer the private sector in Liverpool a strong, independent voice with the myriad of public agencies that govern our city. “Our aim for 2005 is to give Liverpool’s wealth creators and entrepreneurs a bigger say in the city’s future, and we will be demanding genuine engagement from civic leaders and decision makers for our members. “Since April this year, DLIB has hosted eight business seminars and networking events. We have attracted over 2,500 business people to those events, representing over 400 Liverpool companies. In addition, we have launched a website, which attracts in excess of 20,000 hits a month and we have built a database of 7,000 leading businesses. “With your support, we will continue to go from strength to strength in 2005.” ENDS For further information contact Frank McKenna 0151 227 1633
