‘BUSINESS OSCARS’ CELEBRATE LIVERPOOL TALENT Eleven Liverpool businesses are celebrating their success following the ‘Business Oscars’ award ceremony. The awards on offer were for ‘New Talent’ and the ‘Inner City 100’. Hosts Downtown Liverpool in Business announced the winners at the award ceremony at The Racquet Club in conjunction with Inner City 100. ‘New Talent’ awards, aimed at Liverpool’s young up-and-coming companies, were awarded to Sapporo, Job Store, Taxi TV, Jason Ansell, Aerogistics and CCUK Media. Nigel Dove, marketing director at the North West Development Agency, sponsors of the event, presented the Inner City 100 awards to Focus Fire and Security, Riverside Truck Rental, Mando Group, Mellors Catering Services and Bluefire Consulting. Chairman of DLIB, Frank McKenna, said “The awards ceremony was an impressive showcase of some of the most talented new business minds in Liverpool and the fastest growing companies in the city. “The standard of entries was very high – testimony that Liverpool businesses have the ambition and ability to succeed. We were particularly impressed by the winners and I’m sure that they, along with many of the other strong entries, will continue to grow”. Winners of the ‘New Talent’ awards will each receive £7000 worth of business consultancy. The Inner City 100 winners will not only receive £5000 to spend on consultancy, but will also be included in the Inner City 100, a list of the 100 fastest growing businesses in the UK. This will no doubt lead to more exposure in the media and business world, further enhancing their reputations. The impressive level of candidates can only mean one thing – Liverpool businesses are thriving.
