Seven up for Downtown Downtown Liverpool in Business (DLIB), the private sector lobby group set up by Frank McKenna, is this week celebrating its seventh anniversary. McKenna said the organisation has continued to grow during the past 12 months despite the continued tough economic conditions. He added that the organisation has a series of high-profile events lined up for the rest of the year. McKenna said: "Over the next few months we will be hosting the fourth annual Liverpool Business Week, which will include a contribution from [Liverpool City Council leader] Joe Anderson; launching an exciting new initiative with Liverpool Vision; organising the seventh annual City of Liverpool Business Awards; and welcoming two or three ministers to Downtown events." In recent months, DLIB has helped to deliver Liverpool's 'embassy' project in London, while McKenna has called for the streamlining of public sector agencies, including the merger of Liverpool Vision and The Mersey Partnership. |
