INTRODUCTION |
|
| This special update
looks back at the latest ‘Livercool’ awards. Four hundred
of the city’s leading movers & shakers packed into the Crowne
Plaza to enjoy fabulous entertainment from China Crisis, JMU’s
dancers, and compere for the evening Kev Seed. There was also a sparkling
awards ceremony and an excellent speech from the Chief Executive of
The Mersey Partnership Lorraine Rogers to enjoy. DLIB would like to
thank the Northwest Development Agency, Brabners Chaffe Street and
Noname Kitchens for sponsoring what many have described as the best
Downtown event yet! This bulletin also provides a briefing on the Governments
latest Queens’ Speech, and news of DLIB’s final networking
event of 2007 and details of the spectacular opening 08 show at the
new Arena. |

TMP CHIEF
IMPRESSES AUDIENCE |
|
| Keynote speaker
Lorraine Rogers impressed guests with a confident presentation, in
which she outlined TMP’s determination to showcase the city-region
to the widest possible international audience during capital of culture
year. However, she warned that lack of resources could hinder the
organisations efforts, saying, “ As one Councillor put it,
how can it be right that we spend more on fireworks than on attracting
inward investment?” |
