COLLINGE WINS TOP AWARD  

Liverpool salon owner and entrepreneur Andrew Collinge was the deserved winner of this years ‘Livercool Entrepreneur of the Year’ award. Having established an international reputation, but maintained his major business interests in the city he started, Andrew recently opened a brand new state of the art training facility in Bold Street that will provide training and working opportunities to Liverpool students and budding hairdressers for many years to come. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Jim Davies and Guy Wallis of DWF; and Neil Sturmey, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton, whilst Vicky Jaycock and Roy Gronow walked off with the much coveted ‘Sexy Networker of the Year awards. CAPRICORN KITCHENS FITS OUT WATERFRONT  

Downtown sponsors Capricorn Kitchens have won a contract to fit out 192 kitchens at Kings Dock Mill.

Rob Prichard, of LAG Prichard, commented: "We are pleased our contractors Bowmer & Kirkland have selected Capricorn Kitchens to be the kitchen suppliers for the Kings Dock scheme. DWF REPORTS 15% INCOME HIKE  

Law firm DWF has reported a 15% hike in fee income to £32m in the six months to October 31.

The Liverpool based firm said it would continue to expand, with a focus on the Leeds and London offices in particular.

DWF said the biggest area of growth was its people division, which includes employment law and pensions advice and which saw a 50% increase in business during the period.

Managing partner Andrew Leaitherland said: “We are delighted that we are continuing to experience double-digit growth in such difficult economic conditions.
