Leading figures from Liverpool’s business community had reason to celebrate on Thursday 18th November after being honoured at the annual Livercool awards.

The awards, which recognise the city’s key figures, took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and were attended by more than 400 guests.

The big winners on the night were Parr Street Studios’ Gary Millar, who scooped Business Personality of the Year; and Eddie Reed of kitchen manufacturers No Name Kitchens and John Sutcliffe of engineering firm Sutcliffe, who were presented with the coveted ‘Services to Liverpool’ awards at the glittering event.

Nobles Construction’s Peter Linford won Property Professional of the Year, Ollie and Darsh’s Daz Singh scooped Young Entrepreneur of the Year and David Kirwan of Kirwans Solicitors won Professional of the Year.

Other winners included Anders Borg in the Lifestyle Award category and Aurora Media’s Jon Egan for Best Marketer. High Performance Consultancy’s Jade Sidwell received the Best PA accolade and Novotel’s Geniene Reese and Everton Football Club’s Shaun Petafi won Sexy Networker of the Year for the respective female and male categories.

The former Chief Executive of the Northwest Development Agency was presented with a special award for his contribution to regeneration.

The event was hailed “fantastic” by Frank McKenna, chairman of Downtown Liverpool in Business, who organise the awards. He said: “It was a fantastic night and the event just keeps getting better and better every year. There was a brilliant atmosphere and some great competition between lots of individuals who have enjoyed a very successful year.”
