NWDA
The Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) is responsible for the sustainable economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest and has five key priorities: Business Development, Regeneration, Skills and Employment, Infrastructure, and Image. Based in our Mercury Court offices in Liverpool city centre, the NWDA's Merseyside Area Team undertakes a broad portfolio of work. Providing local solutions for local problems, the team facilitates the Agency's business development agenda, creating more economic opportunities, and continually working to improve the built environment. Recent key projects include investing £40.5 million for Liverpool Digital, a regional centre of excellence for the ICT sector; £8.7 million for a Mersey Waterfront Regional Park spanning 70 miles of Merseyside coastline; £2.5 million for the Merseyside Social Enterprise Initiative helping both new and existing social enterprises grow and develop; and £9.5 million for the regeneration of the Ropewalks area in Liverpool.

ACME
Merseyside ACME is the strategic development agency for the creative
industries on Merseyside and works with a wide range of local and regional
partners to promote business growth for the sector as well as the creative
use of arts in regeneration.
Since its inception in 1997, Merseyside ACME has had a significant impact on
the profitability of the creative industries sector on Merseyside and has
developed an important regional role in supporting the wider development of
the sector.
To date, Merseyside ACME has worked with more than 500 creative businesses
(investing over £1.4m into their development), has commissioned and managed
a substantial programme of sector research and has been instrumental in the
creation of nearly 300 jobs. In addition, through its regeneration and
community work, Merseyside ACME has helped over 144 projects and developed
20 new organisations and community businesses.
