DLIB recently turned 3 years young, we asked a few friends exactly what they thought of DLIB. Read some of the comments below.

| Geoff Banks - Morban |
Morban joined DLIB in Jan of 06 and I must say that up to then we had had little regard for ‘networking’ companies such as BNI or Chamber of Commerce (unless you are a sole trader offering a service I feel they are totally irrelevant). As we are based outside of Liverpool it also makes it difficult to travel to breakfast meetings.
From day one Frank and his team looked after our specific needs. Lists of companies applicable to our sector and possible contacts, a superb networking system arranged for mid to late afternoon, very friendly staff and a really refreshing approach to ‘getting us out there’.
The ability to place me, a director with precious little spare time, in front of my peers is perfect for our business, I turn up, Frank and his team point me to the right people and off we go, it really is as simple as that.
You’ve got it spot on Frank, thanks for your help in giving Morban a presence in Liverpool! |

| Dave Blackman - Venmores |
I have made some great business connections and socially some good friends.
All in all it is a superb networking organisation and hopefully many more birthdays to come. |

| Steven Broomhead - NWDA |
Congratulations to Downtown Liverpool on 3 years of making a real difference to policy and development in what is now a much more competitive Liverpool economy. Downtown brings together key decision makers to discuss the critical business issues in a mature, professional but relaxed way.
I wish Downtown continued success in doing its part in making the Liverpool regional economy grow and prosper. |

| Kevin Cheston - Nemesis Networks |
Dlib over the years have been instrumental to assisting my businesses in introducing me to key contacts in merseyside. They always seem to have a different angle on what is going on and what is important.
Happy birthday and may there be many more! |

| Len Collinson |
| DLIB is good for Liverpool. Irritating sometimes but watches out for the silliness of bureaucracy. It encourages us to laugh together |

| Carolynne Edwards - Space To C |
When I first joined DLIB, I thought I it was just another networking group – how wrong could I be?
I’ve met great people, been given some fantastic advice, and perhaps most importantly, being a member of DLIB, has meant I can find out what is really going on in Liverpool.
Congratulations to Frank and the team for all their achievements so far…
Happy Birthday DLIB, here’s to many more! |

| Ben Hatton - Rippleffect |
| It is great to see that Downtown has been a success in Liverpool. To have brought together the level of business community that it has done over the past 3 years is a testament to the organisation and its commitment to the city - well done Frank. |

| Michelle Helsby - Evolve Productions |
As members for almost 3 years DLIB has provided EVOLVE with a platform to access the business players of Liverpool.
Joining forces with other DLIB members such as Vermont Developments has definitely taken our business to the next level. Happy Birthday DLIB! |

| David Hunt - Crosby Electrical Services |
| DLiB 'Sexy Networking' is one of the few networking events in the city you can actually look forward to. Not just because of the easy going format, but because of the scope and calibre of people that attend. The Property Forum is 1st class too. |
| |
| Jane Jackson - PKF |
| Downtown is a great place to meet and network with people who can make a difference in the City. Its events are very informative, well organised but most of all fun. |
| |
| Joel Jelen - Ubiquity PR |
| DLIB’s stature can be measured by the column inches devoted to it by regional media and the sponsorship and support of some of the city’s leading organisations. Enough said. |

As is all families, and I include the business community of Liverpool as a family, there always appears to be a young upstart who is not afraid to speak their mind. An upstart who is not phased by the ‘establishment’, not too concerned about challenging tradition or traditional thinking, and yet thinks about the wider benefits of their actions, especially benefits to their family.
So who is this upstart? Downtown Liverpool in Business celebrates its third birthday and to say that its ‘upstart’ behaviour over the past three years, has caused many of its established contemporaries to think is little more deeply and widely about looking after its family (the Liverpool business community) is an understatement. As a result more balanced arguments are emerging, which is a good thing.
I arrived in Liverpool almost three and half years ago, and as a member of DLIB during all of this time, my young upstart not only gave me access to the insight of the Liverpool business community, but also gave introductions freely to enhance networking opportunities – a great boost to an interloper like myself!
Happy Birthday DLIB, soon you will be an adolescent, and we all know how they can behave – very well of course! |

| Hazel Liu - MySpa Clinics |
| MySpa – Liverpool’s only cosmetic spa – are proud members of Liverpool’s most dynamic business networking club. Happy 3rd Birthday DLIB! – here’s to many more successful years. Thank you for all your help so far. |

| Chris Nisbet - Albany Assets |
| Downtown has been an exceptional supporter of Albany and a great introducer of various members. Also, Undoubtedly, the best Networking events will be Downtown's. |
| |
| Eddie Reed - Noname Kitchens |
| DLIB has had a significant impact on the city and in particular small businesses over the past three years, their referrals have added tangible bottom line value to our business. DLIB are networking leaders that can and do make a difference. |

| Neil Sturmey - Grant Thornton Liverpool |
| Downtown is widely recognised as one of the North West’s most dynamic business clubs. Since it was established three years ago, it has become an independent voice for the region, helping private sector businesses tackle long-term economic issues. Grant Thornton is proud to be a member and looks forward to a long continuing relationship. |
