Tuesday 22nd February 2005 ‘Building the Future’ was the first of the quarterly meetings of the Liverpool Property Forum in 2005. The seminar examined the key developments in the regeneration of Liverpool, particularly the Paradise Street Development. A highly informative and enlightening presentation was given by Guy Butler and Rod Holmes of Grosvenor, detailing their reasons for choosing Liverpool as a development site, the key aims and objectives of the development, the progress to date and how the development will transform the city centre. Jim Gill, Chief Executive of the urban regeneration agency Liverpool Vision, examined the current state of the waterfront and how this will be developed over the coming years. Finally, Simon Jones of Brabners Chaffe Street gave an overview of some of the legal issues facing property developers. Afterwards, there was an opportunity to network, with the added attraction of wine tasting, courtesy of the Liverpool & Biscay Wine Shipping Company, and a spot of simulated golf, hosted by The Golf Company. |
